Aunt Lee Yin's Birthday

We Sing, We dance, We laugh

Last Saturday was Aunt Lee Yin's Birthday ... She is my neighbour who lives above my house and she is about 50 plus years old already. It seems that she knows alot of neighbours because there was a huge turnout on that day and most of them lives in Regency Heights. This is also the 1st time i attend a fucntion at the community hall in my condo.

The Dead Mall

- those were the days-

Remember back then, when we were still a little kid? 1 of the must go places when we were young was BUKIT JAMBUL COMPLEX !!! i remember when i was about 10 year old, every weekend i looked forward to go to BJ complex ... it was the IT or the COOLEST mall in the whole penang back then !!! there was no Gurney Plaza or Queensbay yet ... those places were still probably some waste land or some kampung ...

I remember back then when BJ complex was still the number 1 shopping mall in penang, they had almost everything that a kid wants in a mall. they had a nice bowling alley, high class cinema, fully air-conditioned arcade with pool tables, food courts, COSMART, and the best of all is the one and only ICE SKATING RINK in the northern region.

However, as the years passed, everything just faded away ...

-The 1 and only ice-skating rink was demolished,

-the bowling alley now looks like some wrecked up bowling alley,

-the cinema was taken over by some 'great' group where ppl come here for some infamous movies or when queensbay or gurney is overly-packed,

-the arcade now feels like some hot sauna and on top of every pool table, there will be a piece of paper saying 'ROSAK',

-Cosmart is now some 'pasar malam'

-food court was long gone ...

-i was the 1st customer at 10 30 am -

the reason that i will go or most people will go (you gotta agree) to BJ complex now is for only one of the following 3 things:

1) cheap DVD's and accessories

2) handphones and repairing computer

3) bowling

- The once glorified ice-skating rink is now a mini 'pasar malam' -

anyways, the reason i made this post is to let all the young kids who think BJ complex was all the while a lame complex and GURNEY PLAZA or QUEENSBAY is the 'IT' mall. Remember, 10 or more years ago, BJ complex was the number 1 complex in Penang ... so lets all enjoy it before it becomes a graveyard or hang out place for junkees.

Today, my father brought home some coconuts. Aunty Chris gave them to us. so i wanted to try it out myself, the way to chop/ dissect/rip apart or whatever-you-call-it the coconuts ...

Times Square and Penang Merdeka Youth Event.

Today is the 1st time i went to Times Square, parking was free and there were still loads of spaces left ... As i entered the mall, erm it was kinda empty and there were'nt many people. there were only a few stalls opened and operational.

Today i went to times Square was because of the Merdeka Youth Event thingy by JazzAda. okay, to all the foreigners out there, 31 august is actually the independance day for MALAYSIA *whoo hoo*

... this is the day where 52 years ago, our 1st prime minister - the late Tunku Abdul Rahman declared independance from the British (tears rolling). It was a great view and the atmosphere was superb ... but that was old story... now ...... hahaha YOU GOTTA VISIT MALAYSIA to know whatsup in here !!! okay back to youth event ...

Then i went out to check out the event ... the whole thing was located just outside the TIMES SQUARE MALL at the open space area... there were many stalls selling food, clothing and more food ... and there was a huge stage where all the performances were taken place at.

oh yeah ... i met Mei yen and also Mei Phing ... and i also met Ai Lin, the sis (sorry i forgot her name) and also Kelvin ... so i walked with Mei Yen n sis and also meet up with Ai lin n gang ...

OH YEAH I FORGOT !!!! i won this CD as a prize thanks to mei phing !!!! hahaha she gave me an answer to a question ... i don even remember the question ... but the answer was JACLYN VICTOR !!!! i shouted !!! whoo hoo ~

AOG Food Fair at PISA ...

Lennard got some coupons for the food fair organized by the AOG church so we went there for breakfast ... it was actually quite a huge event ... covering the entire concourse area .... they have food, household stuff and MORE food ... but suprisingly to me, although there were many people but you can hardly see any with mask on ... lol

It has been a while since i last updated on educational stuff, so here is a Thought of the day:

The four-leaf clover is an uncommon variation of the common, three-leaved clover. According to tradition, such leaves bring good luck to their finders.
